Congratulations Pomegranate Center!

Pomegranate Center is a recognized leader in developing neighborhood gather places and is a leading nonprofit devoted to community-generated design and development. Their mission is to facilitate the creation of meaningful, community-crafted gathering places. A core belief at Pomegranate Center is “together we know more.” They use this ground rule in their community meetings, building projects and in project planning. They are being honored for their transformation of the Edith Carrie Neighborhood of Walla Walla, Washington. Their partners in this project were the residents of Edith Carrie, Blue Mountain Action Council, Commitment to Community, Walla Walla County Community Network, Donald & Virginia Sherwood Trust, and many local business of Walla Walla.

Congratulations Rural Development Institute!

For over 40 years in over forty-five countries, the Seattle-based Rural Development Institute (RDI) has been helping developing country governments to secure land rights for more than 400 million of the world's poorest people. With offices in China, India, Indonesia and Rwanda, RDI is engaged in a number of projects with global leaders, governments and NGOs, including efforts to secure women's property rights and an ambitious "micro-land ownership" program in India. Thanks to the success of that program, RDI is expanding and opening three new offices this year. RDI has been nominated for multiple awards for its innovative work, including the Hilton Humanitarian Prize, the World Food Prize and the Nobel Prize.
